The North Texarkana Water Main provided a large perimeter water supply main to supply water to the growing west end of Bowie County and to enhance the municipal system of Texarkana. In order to ensure compatibility with the system, all water lines 6″ and over in Texarkana were computer modeled and field calibrated.
This project entailed route selection, ROW acquisition, environmental clearances and hydraulic analysis for a 30″ water main approximately 13 miles long in Bowie County, Texas. Also included with this project was an additional 10 miles of 12″ water main to connect the larger main to existing systems. Plans, specifications and estimates were prepared and the projects were let in three separate contracts. Project funding consisted of federal EDA funds and local contributions.
